Planned gifts to Lancaster General Health

Plourde’s Planned Gift Will Create a Lasting Legacy for LG Health Patients

Jacqueline A. PlourdePenn Medicine Lancaster General Health Foundation is honored to recognize the generosity of Jacqueline A. Plourde, whose planned gift will create a lasting legacy for patients and families affected by epilepsy.

Jacqueline’s connection to Lancaster and Lancaster General Health spans many years through family ties and a deep appreciation for the care and services the health system provides. Her commitment to philanthropy was inspired in part by her parents, who established an endowment in honor of her brother. Witnessing the impact of that gift motivated Jacqueline to consider how she could make a meaningful difference for future generations.

Through a charitable bequest, Jacqueline has expressed her intention to establish the Plourde Family Epilepsy Fund, an endowed fund dedicated to advancing epilepsy care at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health.

Her decision is rooted in personal experience. Jacqueline’s sister Jeanette has lived with epilepsy since 1971, giving the family firsthand insight into the challenges of the condition and the importance of continued advances in treatment and patient care. Their commitment to this cause deepened following the loss of Jacqueline’s nephew, who died from an epileptic seizure at the age of 22.

“The fund is a way to honor both Jeanette’s lifelong journey and our nephew’s memory,” Jacqueline said. “We hope it will help advance care and bring hope to other families facing epilepsy.”

When realized, the fund will support research and program enhancements that strengthen epilepsy care. Through her thoughtful planned gift, Jacqueline is transforming personal loss and experience into a legacy of hope, helping ensure continued progress in epilepsy treatment, research, and support for patients and families for years to come.
